The New “IT FACTOR” in Fashion – Yes, you know it… SKIRTS!
"Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say, and not giving a damn".
-Orson Welles
This quote sums my style up 100%, it’s brilliant actually!
So I want to begin by declaring my love for fashion. I don’t know where it all started or where I got my unique style from but without it, Amber won’t be Amber! My sense of style has been called weird, unique, out there, awesome, pretty, iconic, funky and I take all these opinions as compliments because I believe that I represent who I am through what I wear. As I always say, you should wear clothing because you like it, not because you have to or because you think others would approve. You won’t like my style and maybe I won’t like your style but that is how it is suppose to be and at the same time, it is still unique to who you are as a person. Fashion is an art, style is a choice. As I am addicted to my life, I am also addicted to fashion. I would spend every last penny I have for another clothing item because I simply believe that I feel beautiful and complete with every piece of clothing I wear. Clothes make me smile, and I smile a lot!
While I was on a trip in Europe during December, all the shops had these dull, pale en boring colors. I was like, NO WHY? So what happened in South Africa 2 months later, the same dull, pale and boring colors hit the shops. I almost cried. What are they thinking was my question? Do they want us to be even more depressed this autumn and winter? So as I like these colors, I still think one need to put a little light on the subject! So the only outcome is to mix it with some bright colors, after all, autumn and winter are so beautiful, we need to look happy and cheerful as well.
Not in the mood for a dress or pants today? Don’t fear, my article is all about the new era of fashion that has arrived, SKIRTS! Perfect for dressing any outfit up or down. There are so many different styles of skirts, but I am only going to talk about my favorite 4! The reason why I chose these particular 4 is because you can wear it at anytime of day or night at any way you like and it would still look good.
So high wasted is the new hip wasted? Definitely yes! From your pencil, to your maxi, you can wear it high Girl! I am going to show you how I incorporated this look into my own unique style.
So sit back, look at my favorite skirts and see how I put a twist to it by adding my own style!

                                                         1. The High-low skirt
This is a new cut that just came out and I think almost everyone is in love with it! Whether it’s a sunny day or a winter’s day, it is perfect. In this look I like to style mine with a little hinch of leopard print and some fabulous ankle boots.

2. The Maxi skirt

This is my favorite skirt of all times! One can create a bohemian look, a professional look or look absolutely ravishing in it, either way, one will feel good. This maxi skirt is in my favorite color, turquoise, and I paired it with a loose top for the more relaxing vibe.

                                                        3. The Pencil skirt
The pencil skirt is everyone’s dream, whether slim, curvy or bootyliscious one can make it work. This is the skirt that I wear the most. I pair it with almost everything and the most important is the fact that I love the high wasted factor. I am wearing a more formal look, after all, I am a working lady now, but pairing the look down with some bright colors and some quite cute shoes!

                                                          4. The Mini skirt
Okay so here I am talking about you’re more hip and unique mini skirt, not your normal cut denim or plain black skirt. The mini skirt is not called “mini” for nothing, it has to show of those legs but still needs to leave some for the imagination. I like to wear my miniskirts more in the winter or autumn and pair it up with some stockings to create that nice warm look and off course I am wearing it high!

‘I became my own stylist by not knowing any better’. -Blake Lively. I would say she knows pretty well! I just love her sense of style. Whether the classic blonde hits it up as Serena in Gossip Girl or attracts fashion’s finest as Blake in real life, she just knows what to wear, when to wear it and how to wear it with confidence. And not surprising, she loves skirts just as much as I do. Here are a few looks on how she styles the 4 different skirts.
                                                                 The High-low skirt

                                                                   The Maxi skirt

                                                            The Pencil skirt

                                                           The Mini skirt

So I hope all you fashionistas enjoyed the post as much as I enjoyed to write it. This is just my personal style and I wanted to show you how much I love and embrace it.
Till wee meet again
