A hobby of mine that I have been doing for about 6 years now is scrapbooking. I love the way how you can be creative and messy while having fun at the same time and loving the outcome because it is your own unique creation. These days I don’t have a lot of time to do scrapbooking but when I do I try to do it for someone special. In this article I am going to show you just how I did that.
Birthdays! Ah, the fun and excitement! There are celebrations galore, from home to work to university. But the most important of them all is keeping the memories and in what other way then in photographs made pretty by special loved ones in your life.
So my best friend turned 21 last year and I wanted to give her something special that she can keep forever. I struggled and couldn’t decide, till I thought of giving her a framed photo of me and her but then again I wanted something even more special so I got the bright idea of making a whole scrapbook album full of memories that she can keep with her forever. A picture says it in a 1000 words.
I didn’t just want to give her a whole album of me and her so I included her closest friends and family. I asked everyone to make just 1 page with their own unique style, so basically I asked everyone to get created. This was not an easy task as some are not creative, some are too busy and some I had to drag it out almost to the date of her Birthday. At the end it was all worth it. The end result was beautiful and she really appreciated everyone’s effort.
So I am going to show you how we put this album together. It was fun, full of laughs and each page showed the personal connection to her.
So to start, you need to buy an album. There are so many different albums out there that one can buy, so choosing the album was the most difficult part for me. I managed to get something really pretty with a meaningful message on it that just screamed her name out and reminded us of how special she really is to us.
As I was the idea behind the album it was my task to structure the layout of the pages. I started the front page with just a photo of her and a little Birthday message form all friends and family.
Following the front page, I put all the family pages. I created this page on behalf of my best friend’s mother that lives in Australia. I put a motherly touch on it and wrote a nice piece on how much she means to her as a daughter.
Then all the friends’ pages followed. All the creative sides came out and one could see a part of my best friend in each page.
For the last page I placed photos of all the beautiful people that made this album possible.
So I hoped you all enjoyed looking at Ideas for scrapbooking or just simply taking the idea to give to someone special. My friend loved it and I know that she will cherish it forever.
Till we meet again
